How to Heal a Heart that is Hurting

When it comes to healing, one thing is clear, there can be no healing without love.
Love is what binds together the pieces of a broken heart. Self-criticism and self-blame have been used for too long and only push us further down into despair and agony, making it close to impossible to have any hope of recovering from the emotional beatings of life.

Just like  we see erosion on a beach after a violent storm, our own heart can feel eroded by the storms of life. Negative, painful emotions feel like merciless waves that pound the tender walls of our heart. We feel pain again and again , every time we remember the events that caused it.

Love is a force that comes from deeply within our heart. It is a force that connects us to our Creator. Love is the force that created our universe and it is what keeps it going. God's Love permeates every molecule and atom of every tissue and membrane of all species existing on this planet. God's Love is what pulsates in every heartbeat and shines forth in every ray of  sunlight. We are in it, yet we do not feel it. To develop awareness of that Love is the beginning of freedom from pain.

That Love is  within us. Connecting to that Love helps us heal from within. Love gives us the strength to do the work of clearing our inner self from all the negative, destructive emotions that continue to cause damage and make it so difficult for us to feel whole and well.

That work has to be done. Our inner heart is like a beautiful palace. When we are  assailed by negative emotions like anger, doubt or regret. or even when their memories are entertained, they leave  marks on the walls of our inner heart. Those marks have to be scraped off those walls  for it to comes back to its original, pristine beauty.

If we don't do the work, if we let those  marks accumulate, soon we will not recognize what has become of that palace and we feel alienated in our own inner heart. This is what people mean when they say:"I don't feel like myself." when rage, despair or depression have entered the inner rooms of their heart.

How can the original, beautiful and pristine self be recovered again? This can be achieved by clearing the dark stains from the negative emotions. Before that can be done, we have to acknowledge they are there, identify them and finally releasing them. This is the purpose of energy healing work.

Many people spend a lot of time, effort and resources in restoring their homes. It feels good when there is a fresh coat of paint on the walls or the flooring has been replaced.

What about also spending time and effort in restoring our 'inner sanctuary', our heart, so that the love we so deeply desire can flow again freely because the heart is free from pain, despair, hopelessness and any other painful emotion.

The sooner this inner work is started, the sooner you will feel better.
