The concise answer here is: everything.
Dr. Bernie Siegel, in his book , Love, Medicine and Miracles, says "The truth is, Love Heals."
Let me give you the whole quote:
"I feel that all disease is ultimately related to a lack of love, or to love that is only conditional, for the exhaustion and depression of the immune system thus created leads to a physical vulnerability. I also feel that all healing is related to the ability to give and accept unconditional love. I am convinced that unconditional love is the most powerful known stimulant of the immune system. If I told a patient to raise their blood levels of immune globulins or killer T cells, no one would know how. But if I teach them to love themselves and others fully, the same changes happen automatically. The truth is: love heals."
In my blog, yesterday, I mentioned Louise Hay's book , You can heal your life. The secret of healing revealed in her book is really no secret at all, it is all about love, loving oneself and others, in that order. We cannot give others what we do not have inside, so someone who despises themselves is in no position to love anyone. So it starts with us: loving ourselves, not from the ego's point of view, from from God's point of view, remembering that we are a wonderful, unique child of God. That is our eternal identity. In this life we may identify with our family situation (I am a mother, a father, a child...), with our professional life, with our membership to various organizations. All these are very valid, but truly temporary. The one that transcends them all is our eternal identity and ironically it is the one we tend to forget the most.
Barbara Brennan, in her book, Hands of light, wrote:" Illness is the result of imbalance. Imbalance is a result of forgetting who we are. Forgetting who we are creates thoughts and actions that lead to an unhealthy life-style and eventually to illness. The illness itself is a signal that you are imbalanced because you have forgotten who you are.
Illness can thus be understood as a lesson you have given yourself to help you remember who you are."
The topic today centers on the the importance of love in the healing process. Love brings us back into balance. That is the reason prayers can do miracles: when someone is the recipient of many people praying for him/her, their energy body and soul are nourished by the love and good thoughts of those people which makes a profound change in that person on the quantum level, on the sub-atomic level, in their core.
Speaking of core, in his book Quantum Healing, Dr. Chopra states: "This core is where healing begins. To go there and learn to promote the healing response, you must get past all the grosser levels of the body-cells,tissues,organs and systems-arrive at the junction point between mind and matter, the point where consciousness actually starts to have an effect."
Understanding all this, we can see more clearly now how much good intent, love and prayer are an integral part of healing.
If and when negative trapped emotions such as hatred, guilt, anxiety,..., create an environment within is that is toxic, emotionally and physically, it makes it hard for us to feel love and to give love to others. Removing trapped emotions and certainly removing the heartwall allows for more love to reach our heart, our energy body and consequently our physical body. All this work will be greatly rewarded with better emotional health and better physical health, not just good but vibrant!
