The Emotion Code, The Law of Attraction and the Prayer of St. Francis

There has been a lot of talk about the law of attraction especially since the movie, The Secret, came out in 2006.
The idea expressed in the movie is to activate thoughts a certain way to bring desired things, people and events into our life. According to the book, the power of thought can be compared to a transmission tower  that sends out a frequency to the universe and then returns the same frequency in a physical or experiential form. What we think about, we attract, basically speaking. Thoughts are energy, like does attract like. If we focus on a certain aspect, we will "see" it everywhere. They say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" but not just beauty, also a person's reality.
There is a famous quote from the Talmud that says:"We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are."
We have different thoughts, we share our thoughts with others and appreciate other points of view.
But we are made of much more than the thoughts that come from the mind.

There is another, equally strong and influential part of us that is our energy field, commonly called aura. In that energy field is a record of all our emotions we have ever felt since we were born. It could be compared to a painting, each experience is like a stroke of color on the tapestry. When someone is energetically sensitive, that person can "see" another person tapestry, they can "get the picture" as we commonly say, the picture of the other person's life.
If that picture expresses lots of pain, disappointments, betrayals, abuse...etc, the energy body feels gloomy and heavy. This person is in a depressed state.
If a person with such an energy body makes great effort to have wonderful, positive thoughts, they may attract wonderful, positive things in their life for awhile but to make that lasting, a change in the energy field is required. In other words: a transformation of the gloomy painting to a more cheerful one is desired or the 'law of attraction' will continue bringing things, people and events that match the gloomy energetic picture.

How can this makeover take place? There is no magic formula. Just painting over an old painting with bright colors to make it look more attractive is not an option either. Energy cannot be masked, it cannot be destroyed , it can only be transformed.
This is what the energy work with The Emotion Code does: we tap in the subconscious/the energy field, where all that we have ever done and all that has been done to us is recorded. By tapping into it, we can find, one by one issues on that tapestry that made a strong enough mark that is has become a permanent part of our energetic make up. Once a trapped emotion is identified, it can be released. So it could be compared to a painting restoration job: one by one,  the gloomy colors- memories of pain- are replaced by brighter ones. It is a conscious work of self- re-creation.
Let me give you practical examples from the sessions I have done:
1) With one client, the trapped emotion of helplessness was found. As I released it, the positive affirmation: "I am strong" came to me. So helplessness was replaced by strength. I always encourage people to use positive affirmations as they assist greatly in changing our reality. I recommend Louise Hay's Book,  You can heal your life, highly as it has great examples of life changing affirmations.
2)failure: when such an emotion was released, this affirmation balanced it: "I am a success"
3) jealousy, "There is enough for everyone", "All that I need is provided for me"
4) dread, "Everything is going to be fine"
5)defensiveness, "I am safe"
6)guilt, "I forgive myself"
7) indecisiveness, "I know where I am going"
8)discouragement, "All things are possible"
9)confusion, "All things are clear"
10) nervousness, "I have confidence"

And it goes on and on... When someone restores a house, they may replace old tiles with new ones to make a beautiful new floor.
Doing emotional releases with the Emotion Code can be compared to taking out the old tiles. Then we can chose new, better, more beautiful, more energetically positive ones to build a better, more beautiful and more energetically positive reality in our lives. After we do that work, we will enjoy the wonderful fruits the law of attraction will serve us. It requires work though, but it is well worth it!

PS: Since I wrote this this morning, I keep on thinking about the prayer of St Francis. What I realize now that the changes he is mentioning in his prayer are not just changes that have to be made in the great wide world but also deeply within us.
Here is the prayer of St. Francis:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.
